In the interest of full disclosure, I buy 80+% of the wine we drink from Total Wine. It is in a great location for us and you can't find a store with a wider selection. We do have a wine shop close by that we frequent as well, but when I am restocking our wine at home, I always go to Total Wine. If you haven't heard of Total Wine, you can check out their website here.
Anyway, I received a coupon the other day for 15% off a purchase of 6 bottles or more. My husband and I are having a Halloween party, so I wanted to go ahead and stock up on a wine that I knew I wanted to have at the party (which will be featured here later) and I wanted to get a couple of new bottles. When I walked in the store, I saw this flyer -- their "Wines of 2015". As you can see, they describe them as their "annual selection of exceptional & highly rated wines you don't want to miss!" I thought this would be a fun thing to go through! Try out every wine on this list and see what I think. So, friends, that is exactly what I am going to be doing. I purchased three from the list yesterday...
#3 - Olema Chardonnay from Sonoma, CA
#7 - Governors Bay Sauvignon Blanc from Malborough, New Zealand
#10 - Happy Camper Cabernet from California
There is no real rhyme or reason to my selections other than my husband mentioned we should try more whites and I wanted to keep the price point on the lower end of the spectrum this go around. We probably should have ventured into the world of whites in the prime of summer with all the great ingredients available to cook with, but we still make a lot of poultry and seafood dishes in the early fall so we will give them a go. Keep an eye out for their tasting notes in the next couple of weeks!
